Will Smith FINALLY apologizes for Oscar’s slap in the face

Will Smith issued another humble apology to Chris Rock on Friday, revealing his former boyfriend still hasn’t forgiven him for beating him onstage at the Oscars.

Smith said he’s taken the past three months to “work” on himself and he’s now realized how many people he’s hurt when he hit Rock onstage at the awards shows.

“I have reached out to Chris and the message that has come back is that he is not ready to speak, if he is he will get in touch. So I’m going to tell you, Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.’

He also apologized to Rock’s mother and his entire family, particularly Rock’s mother and younger brother Tony.

“I just didn’t realize how many people were hurting at that moment so I want to apologize to Chris’ mother. I would like to apologize.

“I want to apologize to Tony Rock…Tony Rock was my man and that’s probably irreparable,” he said.

He also apologized to Jada Pinkett Smith, his wife whose honor he was allegedly defending with the outburst, saying she had “nothing to do with it.”

Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith recently revealed that she suffers from alopecia and had shaved her head. Rock joked during his hosting set that she looked like “GI Jane”.

“I’m not going to try to unpack it all now, but I can tell you all that there’s no part of me that thinks this was the right way to behave at that moment.

“No part of me thinks this is the optimal way to deal with a feeling of disrespect or insult.”

Rock, who hosted the show, joked that Smith’s wife, Jada, looked like “GI Jane” because she was bald.

She had recently revealed that she suffers from alopecia.

Smith stormed the stage and, in a fit of anger, slapped Rock in the face: “Keep my wife’s name out of your damn mouth.”

He won Best Actor that night for his role in King Richard, but didn’t specifically apologize to Rock.

Insisting his wife had nothing to do with the slap, he continued, “I made my own choice based on my own experiences from my history with Chris.

“Jada had nothing to do with it. I am sorry dear.

“I want to apologize to my children and family for the heat I’ve brought on all of us.

“To all my fellow candidates, this is a community.

“It’s like, I won because you voted for me and it breaks my heart to have stolen and tarnished your moment.”

Smith went on to claim that “disappointing people” is his “core trauma.”

“I can still see Questlove’s eyes. You know it happened at Questlove’s prize. You know it’s like

“I’m sorry, that really isn’t enough.

“Disappointing people is my central trauma. I hate when I let people down so it hurts.

“It hurts me psychologically and emotionally to know that I haven’t lived up to people’s image and impression of me, and the work I’m trying to do is that I’m deeply remorseful.

“And I try to show remorse without feeling ashamed of myself. I’m human and I made a mistake and I’m trying not to think of myself as a piece of shit.

“I would tell these people that I know it has been confusing, I know it has been shocking, but I promise you that I am deeply committed to bringing light, love and joy to the world.

“And, you know, if you hold on, I promise we can be friends again,” he told the fans he’d let down.

Rock recently addressed the controversy at a show at Madison Square Garden, where he laughed about it.

“Someone who says words hurt has never been slapped in the face,” he told the crowd.

Smith apologized to Rock back in March. He posted a lengthy statement on Instagram saying “violence in all its forms” is wrong.
