Shawn Mendes just canceled his Toronto shows and the rest of his tour

Shawn Mendes was supposed to be touring internationally this summer, but unfortunately for the Mendes Army, the pop star just canceled his Toronto shows and the rest of his tour.

Announced on his social media, Mendes wrote a statement explaining his decision that he was not ready to return to the tour after some time due to the past few years.

“I started this tour excited to finally be able to play live again after a long hiatus due to the pandemic, but the reality is I wasn’t prepared at all for how difficult touring was going to be after this time,” the statement said.

Shawn goes on to explain that he has had to cancel tour dates in North America, the UK and Europe to take some time off to take care of his health.

“I know you’ve all been waiting so long to see these shows and it breaks my heart to tell you this, but I promise I’ll be back once I’ve taken the proper time to to heal.”

Fans were quick to express their love for the singer across social media.

Many have written that they are here to love and support him no matter what.

Most fans hope he takes care of himself.

People have been telling Mendes to take whatever time he needs.

Some have even commented that his health comes first.

One fan even commented on his own lyrics from his song A Little Too Much.

While most of the comments are outbursts of love, some fans have asked questions about other upcoming shows.

A fan asked if tickets for this tour are valid for the next tour.

Someone else asked if this will affect next year’s European shows.

This news may be disturbing, but big props go to Shawn for putting his own health first.

Shawn Mendes was scheduled to play at Scotiabank Arena on July 31 and August 2 and be on his Wonder: The World Tour for a full year through August 2023.
