No wonder the series is leaving some big questions with its viewers, especially regarding the upcoming one Captain Marvel Consequence, The wonders, and mutants in the MCU. While much of the future of the franchise remains shrouded in mystery, teasing has been ramping up Mrs Miracle‘s finale hint at some major changes coming for the MCU, as well as a place of some significance for Kamala going forward. Here’s a recap of some of the biggest questions raised about Kamala, mutants, and the broader MCU Mrs Miracle‘s finale.

What was wrong with that scene with the credits?

Captain Marvel Carol Danvers cameo in Ms. Marvel post credits scene

In a show of force similar to Kamala in the comics, Mrs Miracle‘s finale has a post-credits scene where her bracelet starts playing, resulting in her being thrown in her closet. A confused-looking Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), aka Captain Marvel, comes out in Kamala’s place. While Kamala has traditionally possessed shapeshifting abilities in the comics, nothing on the series so far lends credibility to the idea that she has acquired this ability. The fact that Carol isn’t wearing Kamala’s costume or bracelet and doesn’t seem shocked at her appearance also makes it seem like Kamala hasn’t changed here.

Marvel kind of came out to explain that post-credits scene. Mrs Miracle Showrunner Bisha K. Ali has stated in multiple interviews that it is indeed Carol Danvers who is standing in Kamala’s room and that viewers should be excited to see The wonders when everything is settled. Captain Marvel and Ms. Marvel will appear together in the upcoming sequel, likely due to the events depicted in it Mrs Miracle‘s finale.

What other powers does Kamala have?

Change of power of Mrs. Marvel Embiggen

Mrs Miracle Episode 6 shows Kamala performing her famous “EMbiggen‘ from the comics and shows her using her hard light powers to make her whole body bigger. This novel use of her abilities allows her powers’ differences from the comics to be minimized, although she is unlikely to be able to shapeshift or make herself smaller. Kamala’s bracelet is yet to be fully explored, and it showcases abilities like time travel and teleportation in ways that aren’t fully understood. Perhaps Kamala’s bracelet has other powers and becomes a main focus in The wonders.

Is Kamala a mutant?

Kamala Khan aka Ms Marvel in superhero costume

Mrs Miracle suggests that Kamala is the first mutant in the MCU. A conversation between Kamala and Bruno almost states that Kamala is a mutant, and she responds to the claim that everything about her is different, “be just another label.” This ties in with the theme Mrs Miracle about identity and community, but it also ties into the heavy themes of racism and prejudice surrounding mutants in Marvel comics. That the topic off X-Men: The Animated Series plays slightly in the background after the revelation that Kamala’s DNA is mutated makes the point as clear as can be: Kamala is a mutant in the MCU.

Because Marvel had sold the rights to X-Men Before the MCU was conceived, the company didn’t have the option to use the term “mutant” in any of its properties. Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox reopened that door, but apart from an alternate universe, Professor X made an appearance Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, there were no signs of mutants in the MCU. Kamala’s presence changes that and grants her important status as the MCU’s first mutant.

What are Kamran’s powers?

Kamran (Rish Shah) has powers within him Mrs Miracle which appears to be a departure from its comic book counterpart. in the Mrs Miracle, his powers are similar to those of Kamala: he creates hard light constructs. While her powers appear to be primarily defensive and controlled, Kamran’s powers are used more offensively and he has yet to gain the control seen with Kamala. It’s possible there are nuances in Kamran’s abilities that he hasn’t discovered yet. For example, when he was surrounded by Department of Damage Control agents, he emitted a burst of energy distinct from his harsh light constructs.

What role will the damage control department play in the future?

Ms. Marvel Damage Control Agent clearly

With Agent Deever (Alysia Reiner) disgraced and likely fired, the fate of the Department of Damage Control follows Mrs Miracle is an open question. The Organization – and Agent Cleary (Arian Moayed) – have been shown to be antagonistic across two Marvel objects in Phase 4. One theory is that the Department of Damage Control will play a role in the coming phase Secret invasion as a potential hiding place for many Skrull. Given their penchant for acting as antagonists for younger heroes, it’s possible they’ll come into play should a Young Avengers team ever come along. Wherever the organization goes next, it seems likely that it will continue to serve as an obstacle and antagonist for heroes in the MCU.

What does Bruno’s note say?

Matt Lintz as Bruno in Ms Marvel.

In a brief moment towards the end of Mrs Miracle In the finale, Bruno is shown wearing a CalTech sweater and secretly tossing an envelope into a locker at his school. Depending on the context, it’s likely that the locker belongs to Kamala. Mrs Miracle shows that Bruno is one of the smartest people in the MCU. It’s no surprise that CalTech would want an aspiring genius like himself to join its ranks. It could be surmised that this is Bruno writing a note for the girl he clearly has feelings for, professing his affection for her before heading across the country. The episode then jumps ahead a week. Bruno hasn’t left for CalTech yet and he, Nakia (Yasmeen Fletcher) and Kamala are still hanging out. The note feels like a hanging thread to be picked up again later. Maybe it’s not exactly what it seems.

Will there be a Ms. Marvel Season 2?

Aramis Knight as Red Dagger on Ms Marvel

Marvel has confirmed that Kamala Khan will return The wonders. It’s unclear exactly what that means for potential Mrs Miracle Season 2. There are certainly many storylines that feel shortened or not explored with the depth they deserve, leaving so many unanswered questions that a film could not explain them. Kamran, the Red Daggers, Bruno and Nakia all have stories to tell. Mrs Miracle was originally ordered as a limited series. It remains to be seen if a second season will happen or if some of its dangling storylines will be picked up in future films. With Mrs Miracle‘s finale leaves so much room for further exploration that we probably haven’t seen the last of its many characters.
