MCU fans react to alleged Black Panther 2 concept art for Doctor Doom

Marvel Cinematic Universe fans are freaking out over the idea of the villain Doctor doom makes his film debut in the franchise in the upcoming Black Panther: Wakanda Foreverall of which stem from an alleged leak of a preview of the upcoming film that has surfaced online.

It’s important to clear the gate where Doom supposedly spawns Wakanda forever is just a rumor at this point, so take the speculation with a grain of salt. According to our research, the origin of the image online is from a post on the r/MarvelStudios subreddit by Reddit user u/Major-Concentrate-87, as well as a post on Twitter by user @Moth_Culture.

In the Reddit post, the image is tagged “BP: Wakanda Forever.” However, the Twitter post is more cryptic and doesn’t really state what project the image is said to be from,

“Full Alleged Pre-Vis Shot MCU Doctor Doom.”

Regardless of whether the leak is real or not, fans are already excited at the prospect of Doctor Doom in the MCU.

“Your MCU Doctor Doom looks pretty perfect,” wrote one Twitter user.

Now Disney has acquired 20th Century Fox and now owns the film rights Fantastic Four Characters, it’s only a matter of time before Doom and the various heroes from this franchise are integrated into the larger MCU. We actually got a little taste of it with the performance of John Krasinski’s Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

It’s probably not a question of “if” Doctor Doom will appear in the MCU, but “when”. Will that time really come? Wakanda forever is up for debate.

One fan was just happy to see that the Doctor Doom leak coincided with the birthday of the late, great rapper MF Doom, who was heavily inspired by the Marvel character.

Of course, speculation about Doctor Doom’s role is already in full swing Wakanda forever could be. According to an MCU fansite, they believe Doom will not be the main villain Black Panther sequel, but that he’ll likely “show up on the credit scene” so the franchise can tease “the next Thanos-level character.” While there’s no support to back up this claim one way or the other, it certainly sounds like a pretty good hypothesis.

Other Twitter users simply scoffed at how simple the image looked like it had been staged by action figures.

One of the things that sometimes lends authenticity to leaks is when the post is removed with a copyright strike. That hasn’t happened with what appears to be the original posts of the image, but that doesn’t necessarily rule out the rumor either.

One Twitter user pointed out how an alleged leak of Patrick Stewart’s Professor Xavier fighting Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff surfaced in the fall of 2021, more than six months before publication Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

This pre-visualization turned out to be absolutely correct to capture the look of the scenario Multiverse of Madness between Xavier and Wanda.

Regarding Doctor Doom’s next steps in the MCU, IGN reported that there are currently rumors of an upcoming project involving the character, set to be announced for Phase 5 during San Diego Comic-Con this year. SDCC is supposed to start next week, maybe we’ll get more information then.

Meanwhile, We Got This Covered previously reported that Howard Stern has teased that he’s currently working on a Doctor Doom project, but it might just be an epic troll. Unsurprisingly, Marvel fans can’t make head or tail from Stern’s comments.

We just have to see if Doctor Doom’s concept art is the real article or cleverly executed fan art. Despite it, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is scheduled to hit theaters on November 11th.
