West’s home was designed by architect Tadao Ando, and according to Dirt, the rapper first encountered his work during a visit to the art island of Naoshima, where it features prominently.

The planned residence is just one of a few that the Pritzker Prize-winning character has designed in the United States.

The 3,665 square foot home, located on a 5,672 lot, was planned to have a total of 4 bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms.

The residence was originally offered for an outstanding $75 million, although West traded it down to $57.3 million.

The property last changed hands in 2003 when it was purchased for $1.9 million by financier Richard Sachs, who extensively renovated the structure.

According to the media outlet, the residence required “1,200 tons of poured concrete, 200 tons of steel rebar and 12 pylons driven 60 feet into the ground.”

The property itself is nestled tightly between two other houses and has no courtyard, although the rear of the house faces the shoreline.

The lowest level of the residence has three guest rooms, while the middle level is reserved for public areas and the upper is intended for the owner’s use.

West’s home is about a half-hour drive from the Hidden Hills compound, which he previously shared with ex-wife Kim Kardashian and their four children.

The former couple began buying property in the area in 2014, not long after the birth of their eldest child, North, who was nine.

The couple bought several neighboring houses in the celeb’s favorite city.
