Things just keep getting better for Johnny Depp. The formerly unemployed actor (according to his lawsuits in court) has not only begun his rehabilitation process in Hollywood, but has also accepted acting roles for the first time in several years. It also turns out that public opinion has shifted so much that Johnny Depp can make about $3.6 million selling his artwork in just a few hours.

According to the BBC, Johnny Depp has just had his first-ever exhibition of artworks at Castle Fine Art galleries, which include Covent Garden in London. His first art collection sold out in hours, reportedly the fastest ever for the company. Johnny Depp announced the sale via his popular Instagram account, and fans responded with enthusiasm that briefly crashed Castle Fine Art’s website. Altogether, Johnny Depp sold 780 prints of his work; The collection consists of four prints entitled The Friends And Heroes, described as an encounter between pop and street art. The prints feature Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards (a close friend of Johnny Depp and an inspiration for his character Captain Jack Sparrow), actor Al Pacino, musician Bob Dylan and actress Elizabeth Taylor. Each of the limited edition prints has been listed online for $3,973, with the set of four available for $15,040, which really adds up quickly.

Castle Galleries initially promoted the sale via Instagram, where a picture was posted of Johnny Depp working on a Bob Dylan painting. This is Depp’s first foray into the visual arts world, but aside from acting, he is known for his musical work. In addition to his recent musical collaborations and live shows with guitar legend Jeff Beck, he has contributed guitar work to recordings by British rock band Oasis, Marilyn Manson and Shane MacGowan. Since 2012, Johnny Depp has also performed with his band Hollywood Vampires, which includes Alice Cooper and Joe Perry as members, as well as various members of Guns N’ Roses and Stone Temple Pilots while on tour.

In addition to his endeavors in visual art and music, Johnny Depp has recently ventured into the world of video game performance. He plays a blind shopkeeper in the upcoming (in the United States) MMORPG Sea of twilight, allegedly inspired by his own dreams. The game is an open-world nautical adventure befitting the once and perhaps future star of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. He also recently lent his voice to a CGI animated series about a family of puffins.

All of this follows Johnny Depp’s very public and very ongoing legal battle with his estranged former wife, Amber Heard. After the defamation trial, which ended largely in his favour, the two have continued to press various legal claims against each other that show no signs of slowing down. At least for now, it looks like Johnny Depp has no problem funding his legal team.
