George RR Martin reminds us that he is still writing

With Ryan Condal & Miguel Sapochnik‘s ten-part prequel series Game of Thrones. house of the dragon Day three of San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) 2022, due to air next month on HBO, was the show’s chance to shine. occupation Paddy Considine, Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Steve Toussaint, Eve Best, Fabien Frankel, Graham McTavish, Milly Alcockand Emily Carey were joined by showrunners Condal & Sapochnik, as well as the mastermind of the fictional universe George RR Martin to cover a lot of ground that has also been covered in the last week or so by a number of detailed reports coming into SDCC. But at least we have an extended trailer, right? Well… yes and no. Because while those there had a chance to see it, folks like us back home will have to wait until 9 p.m. tonight (Sunday) … and brace for Discovery’s “Shark Week.” Yes indeed. Corporate synergy at its best?

So maybe it’s a sense of disappointment and mockery that we share a moment from the panel discussion when Martin was asked if he would guest star on HOTD. In the clip below, Martin explains that he’s been at home mostly due to COVID, making it nearly impossible. But more than that? Although he admitted it’s a bit late, Martin reminded everyone that he still has a book to finish (The Winds of Winter), so he’s trying to focus on that (but leaves the door open to a possible appearance when HOTD gets a second season. We thought it was funny that Martin reminded everyone that he had to stick with writing…while he was at attending an event live and without a typewriter (at least from what we could see) with him on the panel. But imagine if he really started typing in the middle of the panel? The fans would lose their collective shit. Now is here a look at this clip :
