former MEGADETH members David Ellefson (bass) and jeff young (guitar) have announced the first four shows of the KINGS OF THRASH “The MEGA Years” Trip. You will be accompanied to the appointments by another alumni MEGADETH Member, Chris Poland (Guitar).
KINGS OF THRASHwhich also includes the drummer fred pain and guitarist/singer Chaz Leonwill execute MEGADETH‘s classic albums “Killing is my business… and business is good!” and “So far, so good… so what!” in their entirety.

As previously reported, Ellefson and Young reunited on stage on May 10th um Ultimate jam nightthe long-running community-focused show in residence at the famed Whiskey A Go Go in West Hollywood, California, as part of a special tribute to the so-called “Big Four” of 1980s thrash metal — METALLIKA, MEGADETH, SLAYERS and ANTHRAX. The event was the first time David and Jeff had played MEGADETH songs together on stage since the UK’s Monsters of Rock Festival on August 20, 1988.
The Whiskey A Go Go concert came four months later Ellefson and Young reunited in Los Angeles to give interviews to be included in the upcoming feature-length documentary “That Was My Life: The Story of Nick Menza”. Ellefson has signed on to co-produce the film and will also provide narration to guide the viewer through the exploration of the deceased MEGADETH drummer life.
Last month, Ellefson said The neurotic guitarist that he and Young “I’ve been working on a few new songs.”
Ellefson was fired MEGADETH more than a year ago after the release of sexually-tinged messages and explicit video footage featuring the bassist Twitter.
David was in MEGADETH from the band’s formation in 1983 to 2002 and again from 2010 to his last exit.
in 2004, Ellefson filed a lawsuit for $18.5 million Dave Mustaineclaims the MEGADETH The leader has robbed him of profits and backed out of a deal to change it megadeth inc to him when the band broke up in 2002. The lawsuit was eventually dismissed and Ellefson rejoined MEGADETH in 2010.
Young‘s entire career with MEGADETH was spent recording and touring in support of the band’s platinum-selling 1988 album “So far, so good… so what!”
Jeff made headlines in December 2009 over allegations Mustaine of, among other things, “dissing, exaggerating, and just plain lying on some level about almost every talented musician who has gone through their dysfunctional little ensemble”. He also argued MustaineHe claims so in an interview Young‘s drug problem led to MEGADETH‘s Australian tour of 1988 was canceled and the group “banned” from performing in the country.
Poland was a member of MEGADETH from 1984 to 1987, during which time he performed on the band’s classic albums “Killing is my business… and business is good!” and “Peace Sells… But Who Buys?” He is also a featured soloist on the group’s 2004 album, “The system is down”.
Back in 2004, Poland and/or its management and attorney filed a lawsuit against it Mustaine about the use of the three “Rost in Peace” Demos on the reissue of the album sans Chriss permission. Chris eventually settled on $9,500, ending a professional relationship with David and MEGADETH.
In the last few decades Poland‘s musical focus was the fusion band OHM:who has released several full-length studio albums to date.
