The name of her podcast: Just a Little Shady.
Eminem has been rapping about daughter Hailie Jade since the beginning of his career — and now she’s stepping into the spotlight herself by starting her own podcast.
Hailie, 26, has been a bit of a social media influencer for a while and has amassed 2.8 million followers on Instagram. On Friday, she and longtime friend Brittany Ednie released the first episode of their podcast, Just a Little Shady, a project whose nickname is, of course, a reference to her famous father’s nickname, Slim Shady.
At the beginning of the episode, Jade addressed the name first…but didn’t connect it to her father.

“Let’s start by addressing the elephant in the room, which is the double entender in the Just a Little Shady name,” she began. “On the one hand we have the aspect that I want this to be a place where I can share more about my life, talk about things I haven’t talked about, and just for you guys who have with me for a long time to get to know me a little better and new people get to know me a little better.”
“And on the other hand,” she continued, “we’re also going to be doing some hot current events footage and talking about what’s going on in the world and giving our opinions.”
Though she didn’t credit him with the podcast’s name, Hailie opened up about what it was like growing up the daughter of a celebrity — while Brittany also weighed in on being in the rapper’s orbit as one of Hailie’s childhood friends. The two recalled spending time on Eminem’s tour bus as kids, something Hailey thought was just “normal” as a kid.
“I remember doing that, and all of our memories of when we were young were so cool and unique looking back on it now,” Ednie added, “but at the time they felt so normal and nothing weird or anything.” different. We didn’t know any better.”
“That’s the whole experience. We were in a regular public school, we never thought anything would be different. We had so many normal experiences that I figured when something like this happened, everyone else would too,” Hailie continued. “It’s so fun to look back on … thinking back as an adult I’m like, ‘Wow, this is so, so surreal’ and these memories of me when I thought these were normal things, now I’m looking back like, ‘Wow, this is so, so surreal’ Holy shit, that was cool.'”

One particular memory that stood out to both of them was a visit to Florida. While Eminem had to work while they were there, he arranged for the two to have princess dresses where they were staying before a limousine picked up the girls and took them to Disney World. Once there, they got the VIP treatment.
While Hailie recalled being “so happy and so excited” at the time, she added that it was something the pair couldn’t really appreciate when they were so young.
Hailie also opened up about her middle and high school days, admitting she took things “way too seriously” growing up. She explained that she didn’t drink or go to parties in her teens and thought, “If I was associated with someone there who was drinking, I would get in trouble.”
“I never got into trouble growing up. I never did anything about it either,” she added. “I thought, if I do something wrong, I’m a terrible person.”
That was it for personal revelations in the first episode, as the pair spent the rest of the podcast talking about hopping on the Stranger Things train and pop culture topics like the #gentleminions viral TikTok trend.
