Warning: This article contains minor spoilers for Thor: Love and Thunder.
Marvel fans took to social media following the release of Thor: Love and Thunder to share their opinions on whether or not there should be a Thor 5.
We asked you, the IGN audience, that very question on Twitter, and the results of that poll have been very mixed so far. That The poll is currently open for votingbut at the time of writing, 42.7% of people have pledged their support for a fifth film, while 30.6% of people think it’s time to hit the hammer on the franchise, and others are undecided.
At the end of the Thor: Love and Thunder credits, Marvel confirmed that “Thor will be returning to the MCU in the future.” This revelation instilled hope in many fans about the possibility of a fifth adventure, especially given the mid-credits scene in Thor 4, although some support came with the caveat that a different approach would have to be taken with the next one.
In any case, we need Thor Vs Hercules! Especially after that end credit scene pic.twitter.com/4YO4DjZ64g

Yes, but a more serious film, not comedic bullshit. Also with a new director!

Yes, but I think we need a more serious Thor. He has gone through a journey of self-realization, there is still more room for growth. Comedy out of the way, it’s time to hit the hammer.

Thor is one of the few good Avengers left. So absolutely. You just have to back off and tease him

People who voted against a fifth Thor movie balanced the debate by sharing their opinions on why they don’t want the franchise to continue. Some people agreed that direction needed to be changed as they aren’t interested in seeing another comedic hoopla starring the God of Thunder, while others simply felt the story was complete.
Not directed by Taika. nope Happen. Thor needs to get serious again. It has turned into a joke.

No!!! Taika made sure my boy suffered enough.
Maybe one more without Taika. We need an epic Thor, not a bafoon.

We don’t need a 5

No, his story is finished. I love Thor but don’t let it drag on.

There are so many characters to draw from Marvel, time to focus on other traits instead of the same characters imo.

Would rather see a Loki movie

Waititi himself has been thoughtful when it comes to Thor’s character lately, admitting that the latest iteration isn’t necessarily what fans would want. That hasn’t stopped him from getting involved with the franchise, however, as he recently told Insiders he’d be willing to direct a hypothetical fifth installment as long as Chris Hemsworth returns.
Whatever happens, it’s clear that even if Thor: Love and Thunder has successfully raked in an opening weekend of $302 million, MCU Phase 4 needs direction fast.
