Calling all Chessies! Hallmark Channel fans have laughed, cried and loved alongside the cast of Chesapeake shore Since 2016 — and off-screen, fans have been equally captivated by the stars’ friendships and love lives.
When Chesapeake shore debuted, viewers were introduced to the lovable O’Brien clan after eldest sister Abby O’Brien (Megan Ory) moved back home after their divorce. With her two children in tow, Abby was raised with sisters Bree (Emilie Ullerup) and Jess (Laci J. Mailey) as well as the brothers Kevin (Brendan Penny) and Connor (Andrew Franz).
The family wouldn’t be complete without Mama Megan (Barbara Niven) and Papa Mick (Treat Williams), who often set a good example of what true love looks like. The romantic ups and downs of all the O’Brien children have delighted fans season after season, with Abby’s love life taking center stage.
in May 2021, Jesse Metcalfe, who played Abby’s high school sweetheart Trace Riley, surprised viewers when he announced his departure after five seasons. “I tailor-made this role for me,” Metcalfe said exclusively Us weekly in October 2020, before his final bow. “I mean, the show is based on a series of books where the character is an architect. So I was given the freedom to completely change the character and style of make [him] as well as, [me].”
New love interest Evan Kincaid (played by Robert Buckley) quickly filled the void but left many fans wondering if Abby would find her happy forever. In August 2022, Chessies will get their answer when the sixth and final season of the popular series begins.
The 10-part finale won’t be the last time fans see the O’Brien clan, however, as the cast members are good friends off the show too. In fact, many of the stars have already gushed about their bond after they wrapped filming the series.
“Well that’s a wrap on #chesapeakeshores after 6 seasons! I started this season with #hyperemesisgravidarum and ended it with #covid — it’s been quite a run!” Ory wrote via Instagram in July 2022. “Thank you to our amazing cast and crew for being so patient with me while I was trying not to throw up.”
That There was once Alum also gave to her “amazing” husband John Reardon an exclamation for “hold the fort and be my rock”. She added: “And our two, yes two nannies for all their support. Since mom and dad were both on TV shows, two nannies were a must! #it takes a village. I hope all viewers enjoy the final season! Xo.”
Ory’s TV sister Ullerup also became sentimental after saying goodbye to her working family that same month. “For six years I got to play the daughter, sister and brother of these wonderful, crazy people. It’s the longest running job of my career,” she wrote alongside a group photo. “So much has happened in our make-believe world and also in our private lives. It was a wonderful cushion to have a whole second family to share the ups and downs with.”
That Love & Glamping Actress – her spouse in real life Kyle Cassie appeared in several episodes of the show as Martin Demming – concluded: ‘I know they’re all going to do great things because they’re really talented people. I will forever be grateful for all that #chesapeakeshores has given me. What a great run, Fam.”
Chesapeake shore Season 6 premieres on Hallmark Channel Sunday, August 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
