Brooklyn & Nicola Peltz Beckham break silence on Victoria feud rumors

When David and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, first started dating American actor — and billionaire heir — Nicola Peltz in October 2019, it seemed like she’d settled into the famous family with ease.

Once their relationship was official, Nicola regularly took to Instagram to share snaps with Brooklyn and his family.

Nicola often posted photos of herself with Brooklyn’s younger sister Harper Beckham, referring to the now 11-year-old as her “little sister”.

They enjoyed “girl days” at Victoria’s London store, which Nicola described as “a dream come true” and she even bought them matching rings.

Victoria was always among the first to like and comment on Nicolas’ posts, seemingly giving the sisterly bond its stamp of approval.

Brooklyn proposed to Nicola in the summer of 2020 after being stranded with her and her family in the United States for three months due to strict air travel lockdown rules.

They didn’t share the news publicly until they returned to the UK and reunited with his parents, who quickly threw them an intimate engagement party at their Cotswolds mansion.

In her engagement photos, Nicola wore a striking yellow dress designed by her future mother-in-law, and Victoria took to social media to share her delight at her announcement.

The former Spice Girl wrote on Instagram: “Most exciting news!! We couldn’t be happier that @brooklynbeckham and @nicolaannepeltz are getting married! We wish you so much love and a life full of happiness 🙏🏻 We all love you both so much x .”

And Nicola was full of praise for Victoria too, writing in an Instagram post: “I’m beyond lucky to have so many strong women in my life who empower me and the people around them.”

“What a blessing to have a mother and future mother-in-law who are so beautiful both inside and out and are incredible role models for me,” she continued. “I feel so fortunate to be able to look up to this inspiring woman every day.”

Nicola also regularly documented the time she spent at the family home in the Cotswolds, and often engaged in cute online exchanges with Brooklyn’s younger brothers Romeo and Cruz Beckham.

However, as Brooklyn and Nicola’s April 2022 wedding drew near, rumors circulated that there was tension between the bride and her future in-laws.

Eagle-eyed fans noted that the once-constant Instagram interactions between Nicola and Brooklyn’s family had become increasingly infrequent, and Harper had stopped appearing in Nicola’s photos.

The tense situation seemingly came to a head after the wedding, with Victoria raising eyebrows as she repeated “Mr. Peltz-Beckham.”

Meanwhile, Nicola hasn’t shared a single wedding photo with Brooklyn’s relatives on her Instagram page — not even in her nine-picture carousel, which she posted alongside the caption, “Family is everything to me 🤍🤍🤍.”

There was speculation that the two women had fallen out over Nicola not having Victoria design her dress, a theory fueled when Nicola shared a photo of the Valentino couture dress she was wearing, writing: “My dream dress , thank you @lesliefremar @maisonvalentino.”

Victoria also fanned the flames when she shared a selection of photos of wedding guests wearing her designs, writing: “So proud to have dressed some of my favorite ladies and best friends for the occasion 💕”

Earlier this month, a source told Page Six that tensions have been brewing between the two families for some time, saying: “They can’t stand each other and they don’t talk. Preparing for the wedding was horrendous.”

The insider added that Nicola and her family didn’t want Victoria “to be a part of the planning” and often left her out with “minimal” communication.

They claimed Nicola is jealous of Victoria’s worldwide fame and the attention she enjoys, especially in the run-up to their wedding day. Meanwhile, Victoria is said to have been hurt when Brooklyn shared the cover of Nicolas Tatler magazine, which dubbed her “the new Mrs. Beckham.”

The source said it ended up being a “non-stop little drama” that ultimately drove a wedge between Brooklyn and his parents.

And while Victoria hasn’t publicly commented on any of the speculation, Brooklyn and Nicola broke their silence in his new profile on Variety.

Brooklyn — now known as Brooklyn Peltz Beckham — appeared on the magazine cover as part of the publication’s “Power of Young Hollywood” feature, which also features covers euphoria Star Angus Cloud, actress Halle Bailey and musician Becky G.

Brooklyn landed the spot for his upcoming food industry venture and showed off his cooking skills during the interview, but it was his personal life that took center stage.

Responding to speculation about the feud, Nicola addressed the rumors surrounding her choice of wedding dress designer, telling Variety that she would initially wear one of Victoria’s designs until Victoria realized her studio would not be able to to do the required work.

“I just wanted to [wear Victoria’s design] and I really wanted it, and then a few months later she realized that her studio couldn’t do it,” explained Nicola. “So I had to choose a different dress. She didn’t say you can’t wear it; I didn’t say I didn’t want to wear it. That’s when it started, and then they ran with it.”

And Brooklyn doubled down on the stance, insisting that “everyone gets along,” while dismissing the rumors as tabloid fodder.

“I’ve learned that they’re always going to try to write stuff like that,” he told Variety. “You will always try to put people down. But everyone understands each other, that’s good.”

This is similar to his approach to the nepotism allegations that have accompanied his forays into football, modelling, photography and now the food industry at the age of 23.

In 2017, Brooklyn faced backlash after the release of his photo book. What I see, due to its fuzzy and fuzzy images. And earlier this year he was mocked while appearing on James Corden The Late Late Show to show off his cooking skills.

“I always wish them well, the haters,” Brooklyn told Variety. “I’m just doing what I love to do, stay healthy, be happy, and that’s what it is.”
