And baby makes three! Bachelor alum Nikki Ferrell and husband Tyler Vanloo are expecting their first child, six years after tying the knot.
“A little over half and I’m just craving to look at my abs again 💙,” the registered nurse wrote via Instagram in June 2022, alongside a photo of herself grinning and cradling her growing baby bump.
Ferrell’s pregnancy reveal was flooded with well wishes from her Bachelor Nation peers, including the former Bachelorette Andy Dorfmann, who gushed: “Still ridiculous 🔥 and so happy for you all!!!! It’s great that the rest of the world can now celebrate this joy too! 😘.”
Ferrell and Dorfman became friends while competing for it Juan Pablo Galavis‘Heart on season 18 of The bachelor, which aired in 2014. Although the former assistant district attorney gave up the contest, Ferrell ultimately won Galavis’ final rose. However, the couple didn’t get engaged during the finale. They called it quits in October of that year, despite trying to make their romance work off-screen.
“It’s not because of a lack of trying on both sides,” Ferrell confessed to former Bachelor Nation host Chris Harrison during a red carpet event in January 2015. “I really tried and he tried too. I wouldn’t give up. I’m not a quitter. I tried everything and he tried too. It wasn’t just a one-sided thing. We tried it in real life, not on TV.”
She continued, “He lives in Miami and is in the entertainment industry and that’s his job and his lifestyle. It was really hard for me to get into it. …His life in Miami was his top priority, and when I got there I felt like I was just kind of thrown into his life. I knew I would never be the number one priority. … But there is a difference between second priority and seventh priority.”
After her relationship with the soccer player ended, Ferrell quietly began dating Vanloo, who she was friends with for a number of years before showing up The bachelor. He popped the question in January 2016 while vacationing in Colorado. They married in October 2016 in their home state of Missouri, with Dorfman as one of Ferrell’s bridesmaids.
Two years after their romantic wedding ceremony, however, a source told the exclusive Us weekly that the reality star and sales executive had ended it. “[They’re] done,” the insider said at the time, adding that the couple have been “on the rocks” since their wedding.
The breakup seemed short-lived, however, when Ferrell shared a video of them hiking together in Alberta Peak, Colorado, in November 2019.
“Counting down the days until we adventure again in my favorite place on earth!! We got up at 3:30am and headed to Alberta Peak so we could hike to the summit at sunrise. It was already one of my favorite hikes in Pagosa, but this experience made me fall in love with it even more,” she wrote via Instagram at the time. “[It was] one of the top 10 best dates [sic] of my life.”
