Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck seemingly picked up their relationship right where they left it in 2004. The two started dating again in April 2021 and got engaged (for the second time) just a year later. In a slightly awkward yet sweet development, it turns out that JLo’s ex-fiancé Alex Rodriguez still looks back on his relationship with the entertainer with relative affection as their renewed romance begins.
The MLB legend and triple threat superstar have previously been on their own path to marital bliss. But after four years of relationship, two of which they spent engaged, they broke things off in March 2021. Meanwhile The Martha Stewart Podcast A-Rod was recently asked by the host of the same name how the relationship was for him. And he answered with nothing but kind words, saying:
We had a great time. More importantly, we always put children at the center of everything we do. … Here’s what I’m going to tell you about Jennifer, and I told some of my colleagues here the other day, she’s the most talented person I’ve ever been with, the hardest worker. And I think she’s the greatest artist, live performer in the world today.
JLo is arguably making the same point about her iconic status and hard work in her new documentary halftime (Streaming now for Netflix subscribers). It primarily focuses on preparing for her appearance on the 2020 Super Bowl Halftime Show alongside co-headliner Shakira, but also looks at her struggles to be accepted and taken seriously in the broader entertainment industry.
Oddly enough, although A-Rod was deeply engrossed in his engagement to her at the time the documentary was filmed, he was nowhere to be seen in the footage. (Though there’s evidence on his YouTube channel that he was definitely there to help prepare for the halftime show.) Someone who was actually introduced was Ben Affleck, who asked his pop star fiancée if fame “bothered her.” Reportedly, the ESPN broadcaster wasn’t too salty of the snub, but if we’re reading between the liens correctly, it might have thrown just a tiny bit of shade. He added to Martha Stewart that he had “never been healthier, happier or more grateful” in his life.
The end of JLo and A-Rod’s relationship was reportedly quite a dramatic affair. During the reunion of Season 7 from southern charm, a reality series on Bravo, the co-owner of the Minnesota Timberwolves has been accused of having an affair with Madison LeCroy, one of their stars. LeCroy, claimed they only spoke on the phone, but Rodriguez adamantly denied anything happened. Rumors of breakups and crying children abounded in the weeks that followed, until the once-loved couple finally split.
That hustlers The actress was later spotted out with her ex-fiancé Ben Affleck. The 49-year-old finally made a sudsy bathtub proposal to JLo – apparently she agreed. And according to some reports, they could be ringing wedding bells sooner rather than later.
After all, it was only more than 16 years in the making. Meanwhile, speculation is that A-Rod is currently dating 24-year-old influencer Kathryne Padgett. When Martha Stewart casually urged him for action, the World Series champion kept things relatively closer to the waistcoat, saying he’s currently focused on family and business.
